This page explains what Ledger Expenses Manager stores and why, in plain language. Edit the bracketed placeholders below before publishing — they depend on how and where you host the app.
What's stored
- Your name, phone number, and a PIN (stored as a one-way hash, never as plain text)
- Groups you create or join, and their expenses, payments, and activity log
- Optional: a profile photo and UPI ID, if you choose to add them
Who can see it
Group data (expenses, members, balances) is visible to the members of that group — that's how splitting works. Your phone number is only shared with people you're grouped with, for reminders and identification. It is never shown to people outside your groups.
What this app does not do
- No ads, and your data is not sold or shared with advertisers
- No real SMS/OTP verification — login is phone number + PIN only, so please don't treat this as bank-grade security
- Currency conversion, when used, calls a third-party public exchange-rate service directly from your browser — no expense data is sent to it, only the currency codes and amount
Where data lives
[Describe your actual storage here — e.g. "Data is stored on our servers at ___" or "Data is stored in your browser's local storage on this device" — this must match how you've actually deployed the app.]
